WSOP Online Series at GGPoker Continues to Generate Buzz

Since July 19, players of GGPoker have had access to the WSOP Online Series. A total of 54 events will take place throughout the series at the online poker platform and each will offer a gold bracelet to the winner. This is the first time international players have been able to compete for a bracelet online and they are definitely taking advantage. So far, players have earned over $50 million in prize money and several bracelets have been awarded. The series is on track to break new records as players continue to log in to take part.

Continued Success

The WSOP Online series has seen 26 events take place thus far at GGPoker. So, almost half of the full schedule completed. So far, there have been almost 100,000 entries and well over $50 million in prize money awarded. There are still huge events set to take place, so the series is on track to reach the $100 million mark or higher by way of prizes awarded.

Even non-guarantee events have done well, with most reaching a seven figure prize pool. Players are hungry for online poker gaming and see the WSOP Online Series as a way to play as well as join the record books as a gold bracelet holder.

Examples of non-guarantee events that have done well include the $2,000 No Limit Hold’em Bounty Championship. This event had almost 1,200 players competing and generated a prize pool of $2.3 million.

Events Coming This Week

Player participation is not slowing down in the slightest, even though four weeks have came and went quickly. Players want to take part in the WSOP action and there is still plenty left on the schedule. This week, there are big events set to take place that should draw a nice crowd.

Take for example the Mini Main Event. This tournament has a $500 buy-in which is a bit high but it offers a $5 million guaranteed prize pool. This event has an amazing 15 days of day 1 flights and each will allow one re-entry. Starting flights have already begun and will continue through the week. Depending on how many players compete and how many re-enter, this prize pool could reach massive proportions.

Also on the schedule is Event #58, a No Limit Hold’em 6-Handed Championship tournament. This event has a huge buy-in of $5,000. It is unclear how many players will be willing to pony up this amount of cash to take part, but we should see a few pros in the mix.

This weekend, Event #61 will take place, which is a Monster Stack NLH Asia event. This tournament has a buy-in of $300 and is one of the more affordable events on the schedule.

As the WSOP Online Series continues via GGPoker, we only expect to see the number of players and prize pools continue to increase. With weeks left to go, there is plenty of time for the WSOP to reach new heights, setting new records along the way.
