2022 Masters Odds: Rahm Favored Early Over Johnson, Spieth

It’s been a few months since Hideki Matsuyama took to Augusta, Georgia and won the 2021 Masters Tournament. A lot of things have happened in the golfing world since then, however, that hasn’t stopped fans and sports bettors alike from looking ahead to the 2022 Masters Tournament. Even though that tournament is just over eight months away from happening, it’s never too early to look at the early Masters odds. BetOnline is currently favoring Jon Rahm at +900 odds to win next year’s event.

These odds shouldn’t come as a surprise as Rahm has been on a roll throughout the current PGA Tour. He’s competed in 19 tournaments so far this season, finishing top-10 in 12 of them (including three of his last four). He also has three top-3 finishes, which includes winning the U.S. Open back in June. It just seems like whenever there’s a big tournament going down this year, you can find Rahm’s name near the top of the leaderboard. If that continues, there’s no reason why he can’t win the 2022 Masters.

Fortunately, Rahm has experience golfing in Augusta. He’s appeared at the Masters four times throughout his career, finishing inside of the top 10 in four of those appearances. He finished 7th at this year’s event and even shot a 69 and 66 through the first two rounds before falling apart over the final two. Still, Rahm has shown that he’s as consistent as they come, so there’s a good chance that he’ll have another impressive showing at the 2022 Masters Tournament. Only time will tell if it’s one of the championship variety.

Johnson, Spieth Have Second-Best Odds

At +1200 odds, both Dustin Johnson and Jordan Spieth share the second-best shot at winning the 2022 Masters Tournament. For Johnson, this isn’t anything new to him. After all, he won the tournament for the first time last year as he finished five strokes ahead of Im Sung-jae and Cameron Smith to win it all. Aside from that, Johnson has been playing well at Augusta as of late. In his last six Masters appearances, he’s finished inside of the top 10 five times and three of those are top-5 finishes.

On the other hand, Spieth also won the Masters Tournament back in 2015. Yes, that was six years ago, however, it shows that he has the experience to get it done under the right circumstances. Unfortunately, he did finish 46th at this year’s tournament, which is far from encouraging. However, he’s been on a hot streak as of late, having finished 2nd at the Open Championship and Charles Schwab Challenge within the last two months. There’s no guarantee that he’ll continue this momentum into 2022, however, his prospects look promising if he can.
