A Robber Has Stolen Gold Coast Casino Cashier’s Cage

Gold Coast Hotel and Casino lost its cashier's cage on Wednesday. Reports state that a robber stole the cage, but the amount of money they took hasn't been disclosed.

The theft is reported to have occurred at around 4:30 p.m., and the robber was a black male wearing black clothing and a white mask. KLAS, a local television station, reported that the police hadn't nabbed the suspect by Wednesday evening, and it isn't clear if they held a weapon.

Gold Coast Casino is in Las Vegas at 4000 West Flamingo Road, almost a mile off the Vegas Strip. Boyd Gaming owns and operates it.

Resorts World's Theft

The casino's robbery is a week after Wednesday's incident in which a man stole from Resorts World Las Vegas casino and fled in a taxi from the property. KLAS stated that the robber gave a cashier a note demanding money. Still, it is unknown how much money they took from the cashier's cage, and his description hasn't been given.

Resorts World Casino confirmed the theft last week. But, one of its spokespersons shared little information.

A Vital Vegas poster disclosed that her husband was working when the robbery occurred. Yet, he didn't understand what transpired before speaking to a cashier.

Resorts World cost $4.3 billion, and it was launched in June 2021. It is at 3000 South Las Vegas Boulevard.

Previous Casino Thefts

A man stole chips worth thousands of dollars on September 6, 2022, from El Cortez casino's live dice table. He collected two handfuls of high-denomination chips after jumping on the craps table.

Some people informed Vital Vegas that the robber collected chips worth $19,100, but the casino didn't confirm the claims or make a press release about the theft. A Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) officer was in Nevada federal court in April this year after being involved in three Nevada gaming sites holdups.

Caleb Mitchell Rogers, aged 33, pleaded not guilty in the cases arising from a $164K robbery. The officer is accused of holding up the Red Rock casino on November 12, 2021, in one incident. Reports show that he stole $73,810 from the cashier's cage.

Rogers is accused of the Aliante Casino's robbery on January 6, 2022, in North Las Vegas. He is reported to have stolen $11,500 from the cashier's cage.

The officer is accused of stealing $78,898 in the Rio Casino Sportsbook on February 27. Nevertheless, the money was later found and given to the casino. Also, Rogers threatened a casino worker's life in the robbery.

Some security guards confronted Rogers near the parking garage on the pavement. Then, he brandished a firearm while threatening to shoot the guard, who clamped his hand around the officer's gun and prevented him from firing.

The guard grabbed the firearm, and his colleagues joined him to tackle Rogers on the pavement. Rogers used an LVMPD firearm according to its serial number, and the police department suspended him without pay.

Rogers was indicted in March by a federal grand jury on three counts of interference with commerce by robbery and one count of brandishing his firearm in a crime of violence. He might get 20 years imprisonment for every count if he is convicted. Moreover, the officer might get life imprisonment because of brandishing his firearm.
