BetMGM Poker U.S. Networks Launches Cash Drops Function in Michigan and Pennsylvania

New Jersey poker players have been enjoying the Hot Tables promotion for a while now. This is a cash drop feature that randomly gives cash prizes at cash game tables. BetMGM Poker U.S. Networks is expanding the promotion to Michigan and Pennsylvania for the rest of the year.

How does the promotion work? The technicality of the promotion is pretty simple.

The feature is available in No-Limit Hold`em cash games including the FastForward variant. You have to join a poker table with a certain stake range, based on how much you want to spend.

Ideally, you can choose to play at a table stake of $2.50/$5, $1/$2, $0.50/$1, $0.25/$0.50, or $0.10/$0.25. A hot table feature must be triggered for players to win cash prizes in addition to their regular wins.

Cash Drops Overview

Every registered player at BetMGM Poker in MI and PA can participate in the promotion. However, at least three players must be at a cash game table for the cash drop feature to be triggered.

Hot Tables promotion is a five-tier reward program including Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond. In other words, each tier is represented by the stakes range. For instance, the Bronze tier is for players wagering $0.10/$0.25.

Only the winner of the hand in the Bronze and Silver tiers wins the cash drop bonus. Meanwhile, 50 percent of the cash drop in Gold through Diamond goes to the winner of the hand. The remaining 50 percent goes to the remaining players on the table.

You can expect many smaller cashouts. A cash drop can be as high as 300 big blinds for high stakes and 200 big blinds for low stakes. Ideally, the maximum cash drop will be $1,500.

Speaking during a press release last year, the BetMGM Poker Director, Luke Staudenmaier, said that the cash drops feature was for every player, whether a recreational or pro player. He added that the promotion gave all players a shot at winning a life-changing prize.

BetMGM Poker Is the Latest to Launch the Cash Drops Feature

Cash Drops feature dates back decades ago. Most operators usually activate and deactivate the feature at their sites from time to time.

The Run It Once Poker founder, Phil Galfond, decided to make the cash drop feature a permanent function in 2019. The promotion went by Splash the Pot.

Shortly after Run It Once Poker launched its promotion, GGPoker launched its version of the same. The poker room dubbed its promotion Cash Drops.

PokerStars also used the same promotion over ten years ago. Winamax (launched Hold-Up) and Unibet have also used this promotion. However, these operators usually run the operation for a specific period before deactivating it.

Most operators love this promotion because it encourages more action. It also creates an element of fun to cash games.

In 2021, partypoker launched Hot Tables. The poker operator is part of BetMGM Poker Network. In fact, BetMGM uses partypoker`s platform to run its poker product.
