DraftKings Now Offers Sports-Betting Services In New Hampshire

One of the most popular online sports betting operators, DraftKings, announced that sports betting lovers in New Hampshire are now able to use its services to place bets on their favorite sports.

DraftKings used an official press release to declare that the company now officially offers its services in the Granite State. The platform was launched this past Monday when the Governor of New Hampshire made a ceremonial bet during the launch event.

Gov. Chris Sununu placed his money on the New England Patriots to win in Super Bowl LIV in February.

According to the release, the company signed a deal to become the exclusive digital operator that will offer its services for the New Hampshire Lottery. After DraftKings completed the long and tiring bidding process, the deal was signed, and everyone who is 18 or older will be able to place bets legally using their PCs or mobile phones and accessing the sportsbook platform offered by DraftKings.

Bettors in the state will have an opportunity to place wagers on popular sports, including the National Hockey League (NHL), the National Basketball Association (NBA), and the National Football League (NFL).

Next In Line

New Hampshire officially became the sixth state in the US to have officially legalized sports betting in 2019. According to Charlie McIntyre, Executive Director for the New Hampshire Lottery, the alliance with the sports betting operator comes with a provision that the innovator would have to pay. Namely, DraftKings will have to hand over 50 percent of any local revenue, which was earned from the online sportsbook and iOS and Android applications.

Moreover, McIntyre added that the addition of the sports betting options to the portfolio of available services of the New Hampshire Lottery was a significant step forward and a huge milestone for them. He stated that they were pleased to become partners with DraftKings, and added that the sports betting operator’s services presented a “completely new way to win” in the Granite State.

At the moment, a good deal of revenue tax is directed to improving education in New Hampshire, meaning that the majority of the money collected via tax will provide a significant boost to the education programs in the state.

Chief Revenue Officer for DraftKings, Matt Kalish, stated in an official press release published by the company that it aims to open a satellite office in New Hampshire and have plans to open up to 10 land-based sportsbooks.

He stated that the company was honored to launch its services in New Hampshire and enable betting lovers from the state to place bets before the start of the NFL playoffs. Additionally, Kalish thanked Governor Sununu and The New Hampshire Lottery Director McIntyre for their commitment.

By joining forces, DraftKings, the Governor, and the Lottery managed to launch a safe and legal sports betting option in a short period. Kalish finally stated that DraftKings was looking forward to working closely with the representatives of the state and the New Hampshire Lottery for many years.

This piece of news was one of the last stories from 2019. The sports betting industry in the US is rapidly growing, and several states are expected to legalize this type of entertainment in 2020. Needless to say, the number of people who are interested in placing bets on their favorite sports is rapidly increasing all over the US, meaning this could really become popular in a couple of years.

However, it takes a lot of dedication and hard work, as well as a lot of lengthy legal processes, before sports betting becomes as popular as casino games.
