GGPoker to Launch Game of Gold, a Blend of Poker and Reality TV Game on November 8

We have witnessed several incredible poker shows in the past. Can you remember the NBC gameshow-poker hybrid called Face the Ace of 2019? How about I Bet You featuring Phil Laak and Antonio Esfandiari?

Unfortunately, these reality shows last just a few weeks. Most studios do not even consider recommissioning these shows and for a good reason.

Usually, a reality show relies on a narrative to keep viewers hooked. For example, you will find fans viewing a cash poker game and enjoying it without knowing what happened before the game. Meanwhile, the same viewers will need context to root for a player playing a huge tournament such as WSOP.

So, for viewers to follow a poker reality show, they need a strong narrative. That way, viewers can follow the drama while rooting for their favorite participant. That is what Game of Gold is all about.

It is a revolutionary poker show debuting on November 8. The show features 12 episodes, ending on December 4, 2023. Also, 16 poker professionals will be attending.

Game of Gold Poker Reality Show

As earlier mentioned, the poker reality show has 12 episodes. All will be broadcast on GGPoker.tv YouTube channel.

The first episode will be televised on Wednesday, November 8 at 12:00 UTC. This will be followed by the second episode on Friday, at the same time.

Subsequent episodes will occur on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, until December 4, 2023. Game of Gold reality show is part of GGPoker’s Poker After Dark franchise. The exclusive poker show will feature 16 participants, all playing to win a prize of $456,000.

They include the finest minds in the poker world. For instance, one of the biggest names in the game and a poker Hall of Famer Daniel Negreanu will participate. His participation does not come as a surprise because he is a GGPoker ambassador apart from being a six-time winner of WSOP bracelets.

Other GGPoker ambassadors participating in the show include Jason Koon, Kevin Martin, and Fedor Holz. Martin has previously won a reality TV show called Big Brother, giving him some advantage with the upcoming poker show.

A former WSOP runner-up David Williams will also participate. Others include Maria Ho, Nikita Luther, Kyna England, Andy Tsai, Johan ‘YoH ViraL’ Guilbert, Charlie Carrel, Dan ‘Jungleman’ Cates, Lukas Robinson, Olga Iermolcheva, and Michael Soyza.

Poker Action Plus Survival Format

There is also another six-time WSOP bracelet winner, Josh Arieh, who will participate. Josh has actually talked about the show in depth, giving his fans a glimpse of what to expect.

For instance, the upcoming show is a blend of poker action and survival. According to Josh, this type of show plays right into his strengths.

Josh could do a lot of things with $456,000 if he won the prize. For instance, he is planning a wedding with his fiancé Rachel.

He could also use some of the money to top his bankroll prior to the Big One for One Drop event in December. Each episode will start with the host welcoming the audience and players. Then, the audience will be left to learn the personality of their favorite player and skills.
