Golden Nugget To Offer Online Casino and Sports Betting in Michigan

The Golden Nugget is a top gaming operator that has been recognized as the best of the best when it comes to online gambling services. They have reached pinnacle status in New Jersey as the top operator to beat, setting new records almost monthly by way of revenues earned. The brand just recently announced a new partnership in Michigan, set to work with the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community for sports betting and online casino games.

New Partnership Deal

The Keweenaw Bay own two casinos in Michigan that operate under the Ojibwa Casino brand. They are located in the Upper Peninsula of the state. The Golden Nugget has stated they are thrilled to have partnered with Ojibwa Casino to provide a premium online gambling experience.

The Golden Nugget only operates online in New Jersey, so launching in Michigan and soon to be Pennsylvania will give us something to compare. Does the operator have the magic formula when it comes to online gambling or were they just able to capture the market share in the Garden State early and hold on to that title?

It could be that the name itself is a revenue driver. The Golden Nugget Casino has been around since the 1940s and the brand is considered old Vegas. The name is familiar to older gamblers and the new generation as well as this could be why the operator has been so successful when it comes to online gambling in general.

Starting in Early 2021

For the Golden Nugget, the company plans to launch in Michigan sometime in early 2021. It is unclear what the operations will offer, but we can easily guess it will be very similar to New Jersey. What they are doing in the state works, so it would be a smart move to continue with that format.

They will have competition as well in Michigan, from operators like The Stars Group. They have singed a deal with the Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa Indians to launch sports betting via the Fox Bet brand among other services they plan to offer.

For the Golden Nugget, they will offer sports betting but will be focusing more on the online casino product. That has been their bread and butter in New Jersey and it should be as well in other states like Michigan.

The brand is launching new services at a good time, when the online gambling industry is booming. Players are sticking closer to home due to the coronavirus pandemic and are looking for ways to stay entertained. Michigan is one of the harder hit states in the US and is showing no signs of a virus slow-down.

If the Golden Nugget can launch services within the next six months or so, they should see huge numbers of signups and be able to build a solid player base. It will be interesting to see what the sites look like once they are live and just how successful they are after a few months of operations.
