Jared “BeamDoctorPoker” Halter Opts to Go All-In for Navajo Water

Jared Halter grew up in Pennsylvania and was a talented soccer in college. He studied social inequality at Clemson University, where he got a Ph.D. in Education and Sociology.

The former multisport athlete has a Bachelors's in Sport Management from Slippery Rock University and got a Masters in Higher Education Administration and Student Affairs from Syracuse University. Still, he plays poker as "ashlee Olsen" on BetMGM MI and as "beamdoctor" in WSOP.com and PokerStars in the Wolverine State.

The Player's Poker Career

Halter started playing poker while in college. He stated in a media interview that he spent a lot of time playing variations such as Baseball and Acey Duecy instead of Texas Hold 'em. Zephyr's his dog's death in February 2021 influenced him to be a regular Hold 'em player.

By then, Michigan had just legalized poker and he took part in micro-cash games. Halter often sought inspiration from several Twitch streamers including AccidentalGrenade, Naigo, DavidKayePoker, and Kevin Martin.

Halter competed in the first Twitch poker stream in June 2021 before switching to online MTTs. SchwibbsPoker was his poker coach in 2021 as he learned BBZ Poker and GTO Wizard. BBZ influenced his playing strategy, and he chose to be its affiliate when on stream.

Since then, Halter has taken part in a $100 to $10,000 bankroll challenge, and won a World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event Seat, PokerStars Platinum Pass. He gradually increased his bankroll to engaging in online $10 to $250 MTT plays.

The player occasionally mixed $25 to $50 when streaming. Still, he signs up for live events that help him secure seats in prominent poker series like the WSOP Main Event and PSPC Main Event in the Bahamas.

Halter's Charity Drive

The poker pro picks an issue or cause each year and an entity that supports such a charity drive. For example, he donates some of his three or four months' winnings and Twitch revenue. Still, he encourages his viewers to make donations.

Halter disclosed that he will offer 10 percent of his 2023 winnings in the "Raising Rivers: All-In for Navajo Water. Still, he will donate all his ad revenue, bits, and subs, that make up his Twitch earnings.

He claims that he uses his annual combines to merge streaming with his career's goal to form a fair world. Poker earns him a steady income to continue donating money.

Details About Navajo

The Navajo community rarely access clean water and some of them have to drive for long distances to get it. Halter was shocked when he discovered that a large number of non-Indigenous citizens don't access water since such problems are often associated with third-world countries.

Halter stated that the Navajo Water Project uses donations to supply tribe members with clean water. His commitment to poker has attracted many followers who aspire to excel in the game soon.
