About Journey

Journey is a rock band from the US which was formed back in 1973 in San Francisco. The band was created from members of two other popular bands, Santana and Frumious Bandersnatch. Their first and most active period was from 1973 to 1987. They managed to achieve mainstream success in 1978, which lasted all the way through 1987 when the band went on a hiatus.

The peak of their success was the song called “Don’t Stop Believin’,” which was released in 1981 with Steve Perry as the lead vocalist. The track received numerous accolades and brought the band worldwide popularity. The sole fact that it was the top-selling track on iTunes that was not made after 2000 says it all. People love it!

One song does not make a band, so Journey went on to create many other popular songs and gained a significant fanbase with die-hard fans all over the world. Their seventh album, dubbed Escape, was also their most successful one, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

Along with “Don’t Stop Believin’,” this album brought us the second-most popular song by Journey called “Open Arms.” Shortly after that, the band released Frontiers, which was their second-most popular album.

The band disbanded in 1987 and successfully reunited in 1995, reconnecting with many band members. They are still active and kicking it all over the US and the world. Lately, Vegas has been a favorite of theirs, which is why they decided to stay for a while and play a couple of more shows there.
