Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia to Open February 11

The Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia will finally open this month, with a public date set for February 11. The grand opening will take place at 8pm with players filling up the 510,000 square foot building as much as possible, with social distancing in place of course! The property cost $700 million to construct and offers a ton of gaming action among other amenities.

The Property

The new Live! casino is home to over 2,100 slot machines and 121 table games. The poker room of the property has 29 tables where players can enjoy cash games and tournament action. The site is also home to a sportsbook operated by FanDuel. For dining, the property has several restaurants and bars. The property also has a convention space for business meetings and events.

Next to the casino is a hotel with 208 guest rooms. Players can easily travel to Philadelphia and stay at the casino while enjoying all the amenities the property has to offer. Travelers can stay with the provider when attending certain sports events as the property is located in the Stadium District where the Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, and 76ers call home.

It is quite convenient to stay with the casino as Live! has teamed up with professional organizations. They are offering parking for events as well as VIP access to games. Shuttle services are also offered to get players from the hotel to events.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the casino will be operating based on current state protocols. Masks must be worn, and social distancing measures will be in place. The casino has added a unique HVAC system that is effective in killing 99% of the airborne virus, helping to cut down on the potential spread.

When it comes to slot gaming, the casino has a social distancing system built-in. When a player sits down at a machine, and deposits money or uses a player card, the machines next to the player will turn off. After the player leaves, the machines turn on again. This helps to promote distance between each player as games are enjoyed.

As the machines are shut down after playing, the staff of the casino come by and wipe them down. The cleaning process helps to cut down on any potential spread of the virus.

Will the New Casino Affect Atlantic City?

The new Live! property is located about 60 miles from Atlantic City. Many analysts are wondering if the casino will have an impact on the gaming towns revenues or visitor totals. Players who live closer to the Philadelphia venue might choose to give it a try rather than travel into Atlantic City.

Even those who might travel to the area to dine could go to Live! and experience new restaurants and bars. While the casino might have a small impact on travelers to the area, it is not likely to have a lasting or massive effect on overall revenue totals.

We shall see over the next few weeks if the Live! venue is busy and how it might affect Atlantic City. Either way, players are sure to be lining up to get inside the new Philly casino in just a few days’ time!
