One of the most popular female vocalists in the world at the moment, Mariah Carey, will be performing at Mohegan Sun. The singer and songwriter announced a holiday run for her All I Want For Christmas Is You Tour, which is presented by Hallmark Channel. One of the reasons why Carey decided to go on a Christmas tour is to celebrate the 25th anniversary of her popular album dubbed Merry Christmas, which gave us one of the most popular Christmas songs of all time.
Mariah Carey has reached a very special milestone in her career and plans to bring the festive mood and Christmas spirit to the people of the US, including the ones who happen to stay at Mohegan Sun. She will perform in the Mohegan Sun Arena on Dec. 12.
The show will start at 8 pm, and it is something you should definitely not miss, especially if you are a Carey fan. If you are a Ticketmaster customer, you will have an opportunity to log in on the online platform and buy tickets that way. On top of that, tickets will be available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office starting Saturday at 10 am.
Whoever buys a ticket will donate $1 to the charity called Toys for Tots. Moreover, everyone who goes to the concert will be able to bring wrapped toys that will be collected at the entrance and used as a donation for Toys for Tots.
Album Re-Release
Apart from a Christmas tour, Mariah Carey will also re-release the iconic Merry Christmas album on Nov. 1. The reason for that is the celebration of the 25th anniversary of that masterpiece.
It will be a 2-CD Deluxe Anniversary Edition made exclusively for fans of the female singer. It will include all the hits from the original release, in addition to unreleased bonus live tracks from Carey’s 1994 performance at St. John The Divine Benefit Concert.
Moreover, the second CD will also feature some of the rare remixes of some of her songs. Finally, it will have a new Christmas edition of the popular song Sugar Plum Fairy. The re-release will come in D2C, 7’’ and 12’’ vinyl, cassette, CD, and digital.
The original release was so popular that the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) recently certified it 6x Platinum, along with the main song from the album which is All I Want for Christmas is You.
