Mississippi Gulf Coast Continues to Expand, Improve

If you like great shorelines decorated with unique culture, tasty food, and great weather, you should definitely go down to Mississipi. Their Gulf Coast casino area is the next big thing, as it is continuously getting more popular, and casinos are growing on a daily basis.

In fact, if this trend of growth continues, we might be able to witness the next Vegas sometime in the future. Of course, it takes a lot of determination and hard work, but they are still doing pretty well. Let’s take a look at some of the latest casino updates in this area.

Harrah’s Has A New Club: 406

Harrah’s Gulf Coast casino is a great project undertaken by Caesars Entertainment. It is a facility that resembles all the other Harrah’s casinos, and it even participated in the unveiling of a sports betting experience. One of the newest additions to the resort is the 406 Club, which is named after a legendary gambling haven that was popular back in the 60s.

406 pretty much resembles the club that opened at The LINQ Hotel + Experience, including various fan caves, big LCD screens, live music, Xbox consoles, and more. On top of that, the club also has cutting-edge sports betting kiosks that also enable in-play betting.

The Expansion of Island View

Island View Casino Resort is located in Gulfport, and it is an independently-owned facility that has been doing pretty well lately, expanding all the way through for more than a decade. The casino actually spent over $400 million in various improvements, with some of them being necessary due to Hurricane Katrina’s destruction.

One of their latest expansions actually happened during summer 2018 when they built a brand new casino called The Beach Casino. The project cost $75 million in total, and it is a 43,000-square-foot area. The place features a total of 2,700 slot machines, 49 table games, and 970 rooms for people who want to stay at the hotel.

Furthermore, there are also two sportsbooks that are the latest addition to the casino. It is the fourth expansion phase of the facility, and it seems that it will continue in the future.

New Casinos in Mississippi?

There have been a lot of talks about the addition of one more casino to the already great selection of casinos located on the Gulf Coast. The Mississippi Gaming Commission actually granted approval for a site to Biloxi House, which means that we could get a Biloxi House casino in Mississippi soon.

The facility would cost $200 million, and it would be built at the site where once was Margaritaville Casino, which closed back in 2014. The casino would be set on 40,000 square feet and would have 12 stories and 300 rooms in a hotel. Moreover, it would have three restaurants, a swimming pool, a spa and fitness center, a marina space, and a couple of venues dedicated to entertainment.

Beau Rivage Sportsbook

As soon as sports betting was legalized once again, Mississippi was the first to act, introducing the activity to its citizens right away. In fact, people who live or visit this southern state have been able to place bets ever since August 2018. Football and basketball are the most attractive sports for placing bets among the Mississippi punters.

Therefore, one of the best casinos in Mississippi, Beau Rivage, which is a part of MGM, got its first official sportsbook called TAP Book Bar & Bistreaux. The place features more than 100 HD screens, in addition to a great video wall that is 24 feet wide and 14 feet tall. The place is located next to the casino floor and occupies approximately 7,000 square feet.
