Wizards Chasing NBA Playoff Spot

BetOnline may be leaning towards the Washington Wizards missing the playoffs at -280, but their recent hot streak may change that. After starting the season 6-17, the Wizards have gone 8-3 in their last 11 games. They are now just two games back of the Raptors for the final playoff spot as of March 5. During this 11-game stretch, Bradley Beal has averaged 33.1 points per game and is trying to carry the Wizards to an NBA playoff spot.

As amazing as Beal has been playing all season, everyone will need to do their part if the Wizards want to make the playoffs. At +220 to make the NBA Playoffs, there’s a solid chance they’re successful.

Will the Warriors Just Miss the Postseason?

Sportsbooks have the Golden State Warriors as one of those teams that could go either way. BetOnline has both their odds of making and missing the NBA playoffs at -115. Stephen Curry has been doing all he can this season to will the Warriors into the playoffs. Without Klay Thompson this season, Curry has been averaging 29.7 ppg. He’s also been the Warriors’ top scorer in every game except nine in 2020-21.

The Warriors missed the playoffs last season due to Curry missing most of the year and Thompson missing its entirety. With that being said, a playoff return would be welcomed for Golden State. As of March 15, they’re ninth-place in the Western Conference, half a game out of eighth place.

Knicks Expected to Fall Out of NBA Playoff Spot

Despite being fifth-place in the Eastern Conference at 19-18, BetOnline projects the New York Knicks to miss the playoffs at -150. Nobody expected the Knicks to be successful when the 2020-21 NBA Season began. However, they’ve been surprising opponents all season long. Julius Randle has been one of the most important factors this season. His surprising All-Star-quality averages (23.2/11.1/5.5) have made the Knicks look competitive. Sophomore RJ Barrett has looked better this year and has improved his shooting percentages. Meanwhile, the Knicks also traded for Derrick Rose to add a veteran presence.

The Knicks have not made the playoffs since the 2012-13 NBA Season. As of March 5, they’re only 1.5 games away from falling out of an NBA playoff spot if things go wrong. Despite oddsmakers predicting them to fail, it’s not unrealistic for the Knicks to keep shocking teams this season.
