Online Casino Gaming Now Available in Rhode Island

Online casino gambling is now available in the state of Rhode Island, but players in the state are going to be limited to just one option. Bally’s officially launched on Tuesday, March 5th, and it is the online operator that is approved to offer online casino gaming in the state.

It was a day to celebrate for residents of Rhode Island as this launch from Bally’s was a long time in the making. The soft launch actually occurred on March 1st, but most of the residents were waiting for the full launch to officially take place.

Even though Rhode Island is the least populous state in the country, it has been extremely progressive when it comes to gaming, both online and in-person. This state is not expected to become a major iGaming market, but there are now options available to residents and visitors of the state.

Bally’s Rhode Island has been working hard for this day, and the company held a massive celebration when things became official. While Bally’s is a massive name in the iGaming industry throughout the country, all of this industry is new to the state.

A Look at the Rules

Bally’s was able to launch a mobile app in the state of Rhode Island and that is where most of the action is expected to take place. For those that don’t have a mobile device, players can also access the Bally’s website in order to get in on the action on a desktop computer.

The legal gambling age in Rhode Island is set at 21 years of age, and players will have to verify their age when signing up for a new account. All of the bets must be made from within the state, and geolocation services will be used to ensure that is the case.

Stakelogic has partnered with Bally’s in Rhode Island in order to power the online slots and live dealer casino games. These live dealer games tend to drive the action at the online casinos, and that is going to be the case at Bally’s as well.

There are currently just 170 online slots being offered by Bally’s, but that number is going to be growing in the future. The same can be said for the live dealer games as that number will grow based on the demand that comes from the players in the state.

A Growing Industry

Rhode Island is now the seventh state in the U.S. to legalize and launch online casino gaming, but more are expected to join at some point. Michigan is currently the leader in this industry, but New Jersey and Pennsylvania aren’t far behind.

Nevada technically has online casino gambling, but poker is the only game that can be played online. Rhode Island has joined other states to offer intra-state poker, and that will give players in this state additional options.

This state continues to give out exclusive deals when it comes to iGaming operators, and that eliminates competition from the market.
