Pittsburgh Steelers Forge Partnership With BetMGM

It’s an exciting time for the Pittsburgh Steelers both on and off of the field. On the field, the 10-0 Steelers have the NFL’s best record and are six wins away from a perfect regular season. Off the field, the Steelers announced Tuesday the formation of a partnership with renowned gaming company BetMGM. BetMGM will be the storied franchise’s first gaming partner. It is a partnership that will feature across a number of areas. BetMGM will be able to use Steelers marks and logos in digital properties, marketing, and more.

In a release announcing the partnership, Ryan Huzjak, the Steelers’ Vice President of Sales and Marketing, stated “We are excited to introduce BetMGM to Steelers Nation. Not only will BetMGM be elevating some of our existing platforms, but they will be introducing new and exciting opportunities to Steelers fans. We are excited to be kicking off this partnership.”

BetMGM Chief Revenue Officer Matt Prevost added “Steelers Nation is one of the most passionate fan bases in professional sports and we’re thrilled to bring the excitement of BetMGM to Steelers fans. We’re eager to launch BetMGM’s gaming offering in Pennsylvania and I can’t think of a better way to kick off our entry into the state than through this monumental partnership.”

Steelers Fans Can Win Thanks to BetMGM

Thanks to the partnership, Steelers fans could come out big winners in more ways than one.

A season-long sweepstakes called “Decade of Black & Gold” will give away weekly prizes, including signed Steelers merchandise. At the end of the season, one grand prize winner will take home two club level season tickets and two VIP Hospitality Tent passes for the next ten years.

BetMGM To Feature In Steelers Media

BetMGM will also feature heavily in gameday and weekly media. That includes radio spots in Steelers programming. It also includes a TV commercial spot during Steelers coach Mike Tomlin’s weekly press conference on Tuesdays and Steelers Weekly and Mike Tomlin Show, both of which air on Saturdays.

Most notably, BetMGM will be the Presenting Sponsor of the Steelers Kickoff pregame show, which will now be titled Steelers Kickoff Presented by BetMGM.

Partnership to Extend to Sports Betting

BetMGM recently acquired a license to enter the online casino and sports betting market in Pennsylvania. It looks likely that live casino gaming will kick off soon, and sports betting is slated to follow by the end of 2020.

When BetMGM’s online sports betting product does go live, the company will become an Official Sports Betting Partner of the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to the release.

Online sports betting started in Pennsylvania last year and has become a big part of the legal gambling market in the state. Last month, the state posted records in handle and revenue for online sports betting. BetMGM’s entrance into the market will give players another legal gambling option in a list that currently includes the likes of DraftKings, Fanduel, Unibet, and FOX Bet, which all offer both casino gaming and sports betting as well.
