2nd Edition of Asian Poker Tour Online Series Kicks Off This Weekend

Last month, the first-ever Asian Poker Tour Online Series took place on Natural8 and was a great success. A total of 62 events took place and every winner was given an APT trophy along with a ton of prize money. The series offered up over $4.1 million in total prize money and the APT is getting ready to do it again starting this weekend.

2nd Edition

The 2nd edition of the Asian Poker Tour Online Series will begin on Natural8 on June 14 and continue through the 28th. The series will offer up $10 million in guaranteed prize pools spread out over 200 events. This second series will be much larger than the first. The original series was so successful, the APT has now decided to offer even more to players.

The festival is so large, that it is the biggest to ever occur on the GGNetwork that is focused on the Asian poker market. This time around, the series will have six feature events that will offer an APT trophy to the winner. The top three finishers in an overall leaderboard challenge will be given an APT Player of the Series special ring along with a cash prize.

Natural8 will also be hosting a leaderboard, with even more ways for players to earn cash prizes while competing. With so much extra value, the number of players competing in this series could set new records.

Highlighted Events

In any online poker series, the main event and super high roller events are always highlights. With the Asian Poker Tour Online Series, there will be a main event and a mini main. The mini will take place on the 14th and will have a $50 buy-in. The prize pool is set for $200,000.

On the 21st, players can compete in the regular main event, this time with a $500 buy-in. the prize ool will be $1 million. The series will also include a Super High Roller which will have a much larger buy-in of $5,000.

The festival will finish up with a few events on the final day including the $800 APT Championship. This event will also offer up a $1 million prize pool. This is a highly anticipated event and should see a large player turnout.

On top of the traditional poker schedule of the series, the APT will also be offering satellites and side action. Players from around the world will find a plethora of gaming options, be it competing in the scheduled events, participating in satellites to earn seats or side options.

We shall see by the month’s end just how successful this second edition of the APT Online Series is. With May’s inaugural series seeing high traffic and major prizes awarded, this second running could be even more successful. Will the $10 million in total prize money be met or go even higher than expected? We shall see as the action kicks off this Sunday!
