Bovada´s Super Millions Poker Open Satellites Now Live

Bovada´s Super Millions Poker OpenIf you are intending to play in Bovada´s Super Millions Poker Open, the SMPO lobby is now packed full of satellites to qualify cheaply for the feature events.

Bovada Poker´s Super Millions Poker Open (SMPO) starts on Saturday and runs for just over four weeks until Monday 19th August. The schedule consists of 139 tournaments guaranteeing over $4.5 million – not including the site´s Sunday Special (which has had its guarantee increased to $150,000 for the duration of the series) or the similar enhanced weekly High Rollers events.

The series highlight is undoubtedly the $400,000 Main Event on Sunday 18th August; and, although the Main Event may be five weeks away, satellites for this event – along with many others – are already live in the Bovada Poker tournament lobby. Bovada Poker will also soon be launching an $82 buy-in Sit & Go Main Event 6-Max satellite, for which you can qualify for just $7.70.

The Satellite Path Starts at Just $4.40

Bovada Poker is giving players with limited bankrolls plenty of opportunities to qualify for valuable events in the SMPO series. Satellites with buy-ins of just $4.40 award tickets worth $27.50 for any SMPO event of that value. The $27.50 tickets can also be used to enter daily Main Event satellites which award a seat in the Main Event for every $450 in the prize pool.

It´s not only the Main Event you can qualify for in advance of the series starting. There are satellites running every hour that offer the chance of qualifying for any event in the schedule at a variety of buy-ins. However, please note that only the satellites to the High Rollers events and Sunday Special events offer any guarantees; and, should you win tickets to SMPO events, you have to use them or lose them.

The Sit & Go Path Looks Really Enticing

The Sit & Go path to the Main Event should really appeal to most players. There are six $7.70 buy-in SMPO satellites per day at Bovada Poker, three of which award tickets “to any $75 + $7 SMPO event” (the others award seats to $50 + $5 and $60 + $6 SMPO events). If you win a ticket, you can use it to enter any of the twelve tournaments in the SMPO schedule with an $82 buy-in, or use it instead to enter a Sit & Go Main Event Satellite (when they go live in the Sit & Go lobby).

The Sit & Go Main Event satellite is a 6-Max game in which only the winner receives a Main Event ticket, so the odds are not great unless you are an accomplished 6-Max Sit & Go player. However, if you can win a seat in the Sit & Go satellite for only $7.70 and then spin it up into a Main Event seat, you could be in for a share of the $400,000 Main Event guarantee. So, although the odds are not great, the rewards certainly make it worthwhile taking a chance on qualifying via this path.
