Mid-States Poker Tour Starts in San Diego

For over a decade, the Mid-States Poker Tour has traveled throughout the United States offering poker players the chance to compete in major events. This year, the MSPT has already completed a few stops and is now in San Diego, California at the Sycuan Casino Resort to offer the Showdown Series. Players can compete through May 9 for 11 different trophies.

Details of the MSPT Showdown Series

To start the series, the poker room of the casino will offer the $100,000 MSPT Regional Event. This tournament has a buy-in of $360. It will have three starting flights and is set to have a big turnout. There is also a Mega Satellite offered beforehand to help players earn a seat at a much lower $80 buy-in.

Next up is a Pot Limit Omaha Championship tournament featuring a $400 buy-in. There is also a Nightly Deepstack on the schedule along with Sunday Feast NLHE and much more. The schedule is filled with events for players to take part in with satellites sprinkled along the way for a shot at entering unattainable events at a much lower buy-in.

There is also a Ladies Event on the schedule featuring a $200 buy-in. This event is sponsored by the Poker League of Nations. For players fifty years of age or older, the series is offering a $360 buy-in event. For those who like to play along with others, the series has a $250 MSPT Tag Team Championship.

Ending the series is the Main Event, which is one tournament that most players will want to take part in. This event has a buy-in of $1,100 and features a large $200,000 prize pool. It will have three starting flights, providing plenty of time to take part.

Players who want to take part in the majority of the series can book a hotel room at the property. Staying on-site makes it easy to compete and take a break as you like.

Coming Soon

Once the MSPT finishes up in San Diego, it will move on to its next stop. In mid-May, the series moves on to South Dakota to the gambling town of Deadwood. The MSPT will then host the series at the Silverado-Franklin Casino. During this stop, players can take part in the South Dakota State Poker Championship. This tournament has a buy-in of $1,100.

During the summer months, the series will travel to Las Vegas to host two different options. The first runs from June 2-7 and will take place at the Venetian. The Main Event will have a $1,100 buy-in and feature $1.5 million in guaranteed prize money.

The series stays at the Venetian for a few days to host another Main Event with $2 million in total prize money. This tournament has a buy-in of $1,600. Players can compete in this event from June 10-14.

The MSPT will provide more details on these upcoming events as well as more tour plans in the coming weeks. One reason the tour is so popular is because it travels to several areas in the US, making it easy for players to take part in major poker tournament gaming.
