North American Poker Tour Making a Return

PokerStars just continues to deliver some great poker action, and it just made a major announcement that will make players in Las Vegas excited. The North American Poker Tour is making a return, and this is always an event that is extremely popular.

Resorts World Las Vegas is going to host this event from November 1-10, and it will be a great event in the latter part of the year. Most poker players are going to be busy at the World Series of Poker this summer, but this event will give those players another chance to compete.

Not only is this going to be a great event, but it will be played at a casino that is famous for hosting major events. It will take some time for all of the specifics to be announced, but you can expect that most of the top players are going to be involved.

Time to Step Up

It’s pretty common for the same poker tournaments to pop up each year, but most of those events end up following a similar style as the year before. That’s not going to be what takes place at the North American Poker Tour as the main event will see a much larger buy-in.

Those that competed in the Main Event a year ago paid $1,650 to get into the competition, but that price tag is now set at $5,300. That’s just one of the major changes made to this event, but it’s also going to increase the potential payouts.

PokerStars didn’t know what to expect when it launched the inaugural North American Poker Tour, but the results were impressive. Not only will the Main Event be much bigger this year, but the rest of the series will come with better options for players.

Not only will there be some great events for the high rollers in Las Vegas, PokerStars always does a great job of setting up smaller tournaments as well. PokerStars has also gotten into the television scene as “The Big Game” was recorded at the event one year ago.

A Look Back

PokerStars has actually hosted the NAPT before last year, but it had been more than a decade since that event took place. It was hard to imagine that the result would be as successful as it was, as there were nearly 1,100 players in the Main Event alone.

The Main Event a year ago had a prize pool of $1.6 million, and that is an attractive number to those live poker players that want to get in on the action. You can expect a much bigger guarantee this year, as last year’s winner won just $268,945.

Sami Bechahed was the big winner in 2023, and he is expected to compete again for a chance at a repeat title in the Main Event. There were some other tournaments at this event that came with a big prize, and those smaller tournaments will be popular once again.
