Partypoker Moves Caribbean Poker Party Online

Across the world, live poker events have been cancelled or postponed for many months due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. As the virus spread across the globe, poker operators were forced to make changes to events that were already scheduled to take place. With poker gaming, the actions players must make are not conducted in a social distanced manner, so it would be unsafe to offer such events at this time. For online poker operator partypoker, the popular Caribbean Poker Party (CPP), was cancelled in its live format. However, party has now announced that the CPP will take place online in November.

From the Bahamas to Online

The CPP is an annual live stop that takes place in the Bahamas. Players enjoy traveling to compete in the event due to the poker action as well as the beautiful location. News of the changes broke on Twitter, with Rob Yong stating the new dates are November 15-24.

Passport holders will be able to buy-in rake free. Players who won their seats to the event via promos or other formats can use the seat to play online in the CPP Or in the MILLIONS Online. Players can also choose to keep it for live gaming in the future.

Yong is a consultant for GVC, which is the parent company of partypoker. On Twitter, Yong first announced the cancellation of the live event before providing details of the online action. The CPP was set to take place at Baha Mar, but the venue is still not open. A deal was made to host the CPP in 2021 at the venue.

Details of the Online CPP

For the CPP online, the Main Event will offer up a $5,300 buy-in and feature a huge $5 million prize pool guarantee. As the series begins on November 15, the Day 1A of the Main Event will begin. Day 1B will take place seven days later. November 23 will see Day 2 take place while November 24 is set aside for Day 3. A winner will be named the next day after final table action takes place.

This is the only actual tournament information known at this time. It is expected that party will announce further details in the future. Registration for Phase 1 qualifiers is already open at the site and additional options should be added shortly.

Right now, players can head to partypoker and take part in satellite options. There are several satellites to consider. On Sundays, the site will offer CPP Main Event 1A satellites with 10 seats to the event up for grabs. To get to this point, you have to win other smaller satellite options.

First, you have the Centroll, which costs $0.01 to compete in. This event offers 10 seats to the $5.50 satellite to Phase 1. The CPP Main Event 1A Satellite has a $5 + $50 buy-in and offers 10 seats to the Phase 1 satellite. Both of these satellites run on a daily basis.

Then you have the $50 +$5 satellites, which run daily as well. This offers 10 seats to Phase 2 which is the Phase final. This will of course provide 10 people with seats to the Main Event. Taking place every Sunday up until the event, this gives players plenty of time to qualify.
