PokerStars Is Now Live in Michigan

The online gambling market is growing rapidly in Michigan. Having just started a few days ago, already there are over a dozen operators offering services in the state. On January 29, PokerStars got in on the action, launching online casino, poker and sports betting services. The launch of poker marked the first poker room to be offered in the state.

Bringing Players In

PokerStars is not slacking on promotions for new players in an attempt to draw gamers in. Newbies to the Michigan site can access a new player bonus as well as free play. The site is also offering freeroll tournaments as a celebration of the launch.

Players can take part in freerolls with $50,000 in total prizes up for grabs. Tournaments will continue through February 7, so players who have verified real money accounts can take part in as many freerolls as they would like. Any winnings from the freerolls can be kept and will not have any wagering requirements associated with it.

What About Gaming?

Of course, everyone wants to know what PokerStars is offering via its new client in Michigan. Of course, ring games are on offer, as well as SNGs, MTTs, and the Spin & Go jackpot gaming option. Players can also use the main lobby of PokerStars to access the FOX Bet sportsbook and Stars Casino.

The lobby of the new poker site is quite intuitive, offering players a Quick Seat lobby feature for ring games. Easily get in on cash games quickly by choosing the game types, stakes, number of players at the table, and buy-in.

You can also add a favorites list so that you can access the games you like as quickly as possible. This is a nice customization feature that regular poker players are sure to utilize. PokerStars is all about customization as well as sticking to what players want, and this client certainly has it all.

The new Aurora graphics engine was added in Michigan by PokerStars, creating a smooth gaming experience. Animations run clearly and sound effects are vibrant, adding to gameplay. There are additional interactive elements to help create an overall enjoyable gaming experience.

The Michigan client looks like the one found in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The brand is quite popular in both states and seems to know that having a cohesive design just works.

Tons of Variety

Unlike other online poker rooms around the world, PokerStars does not skimp on game variety. Players will have no trouble finding games they are familiar with as well as those they might not have played. There are several formats and stake levels to cater to every player.

Of course, the site has the standard no limit hold’em, limit hold’em, pot limit Omaha and pot limit Omaha hi/lo. But it also has 8-game, razz, seven card stud, stud 8 or better, 2-7 triple draw, and more. Each game is listed in the client, making it easy for players to find exactly what they are looking for.

If you find yourself in Michigan, give the PokerStars client a try, checking out everything the online poker room has to offer.
