Winning Poker Network´s WSOP Steps Promo to End on Monday

WSOPAccording to an announcement on the 2+2 poker forum, the Winning Poker Network will be ending its WSOP Steps promotion next Monday 26th June.

At the end of May, the Winning Poker Network launched a [geolink href=”https://www.usafriendlypokersites.com/new-wsop-steps-promotion-launched-americas-cardroom/”]WSOP Steps promotion[/geolink] giving players the opportunity to win a $12,500 World Series of Poker Main Event package from as little as $0.28. The promotion has been incredibly popular but – due to being able to opt out at Level 6 and exchange the Steps ticket for an entry in the [geolink href=”https://www.usafriendlypokersites.com/wpn-freebuy-passwords/”]WSOP Mega-Satellite[/geolink] on 2nd July – few top level games have run.

Now the Network has given notice the promotion will end next Monday 26th June. Players have just five days remaining to use existing Steps tickets in the current WSOP promotion, or sit on them until the next Steps promotion is launched. There will be no option to exchange unused Steps tickets for cash or tournament dollars.

Expect a Busy Weekend on the WSOP Sit & Go Tables

The announcement of the promotion ending is likely to prompt a busy weekend at the WSOP Sit & Go tables. Players with existing Steps tickets will likely try to spin them up to Level 6 in order to opt out for an entry into the WSOP Mega-Satellite – especially as it has been confirmed that the $12,500 prize will be paid in cash and players are under no obligation to attend the World Series of Poker Main Event.

There is also speculation that the Network will allow holders of lower value tickets to use them towards the buy-in for sub-satellites feeding into the WSOP Mega-Satellite. The value of Step 2 tickets and Step 3 tickets correspond exactly with several daily sub-satellites, while options could be put in place for players with higher-value Steps tickets to use them for alternative promotions – such as the weekly [geolink href=”https://www.usafriendlypokersites.com/win-packages-punta-cana-poker-classic-wpn-sites/”]Punta Cana Poker Classic[/geolink] qualifier.

Please note however, at the time of writing, the only confirmed opt-out possibility is at Level 6. Players who hang onto their existing tickets hoping for an exchange into a WSOP sub-satellite may be disappointed. Furthermore, if outstanding Steps tickets are held over for the next Steps promotion, this is likely to revolve around the Punta Cana Poker Classic – for which only $800 of the $4,900 first prize package is paid in cash.

As the WSOP Mega-Satellite is only ten days away, we expect to find out what the Network´s plans are in the very near future.

Sit & Crush Tournament Prizes also Changed

Each week, sites on the Winning Poker Network ([geolink href=”https://www.usafriendlypokersites.com/americas-cardroom/”]Americas Cardroom[/geolink], [geolink href=”https://www.usafriendlypokersites.com/ya-poker/”]Ya Poker[/geolink], [geolink href=”https://www.usafriendlypokersites.com/black-chip-poker/”]Black Chip Poker[/geolink] and [geolink href=”https://www.usafriendlypokersites.com/true-poker/”]True Poker[/geolink]) run a leaderboard competition for Sit & Go players called “Sit & Crush”. Points are awarded for entering Sit & Go games, Jackpot Poker games and On Demand tournaments, and the points accumulate on a leaderboard with up to eighty players each week winning cash prizes and an entry to a special Sit & Crush Sunday tournament.

Last week (and currently still advertised for this week), instead of giving away an entry in the special Sit & Crush Sunday tournament, players were awarded a WSOP Steps 4 ticket with a value of $55.00. As the WSOP Steps promotion finishes next Monday, this week´s winners will receive a ticket to play in a Sit & Crush Cage qualifier, with the top four players in the tournament each winning a seat in the following Wednesday´s $1,050 buy-in Cage game.

Look Out for Other Qualification Routes into WSOP Mega-Satellite

If you are keen to play in the WSOP Mega-Satellite, and disappointed that the WSOP Steps promotion is coming to an end, there are plenty of other opportunities for players to qualify cheaper into the big event. Re-buy and add-on satellites into the Mega-Satellite are running each day with buy-ins from $6.60, and three super sub-satellites are scheduled for next week offering a combined total of ninety-five seats in the target event.

Watch out too for a special USAFriendlyPokerSites WSOP Mega Freebuy satellite that takes place across the Winning Poker Network next Wednesday. This event will award the top five players with tickets for a $66.00 buy-in super satellite on Saturday 1st July. Full details of this special Freebuy event will be announced early next week, so make sure you bookmark USAFriendlyPokerSites.com and be sure to visit again before next Wednesday´s Freebuy tournament.
