Although the above headline sounds a bit like a pro wrestling competition – it’s not – it’s online poker at the Winning Poker Network (WPN), baby!
WPN is hosting two versions of “The Cage,” its popular cash/tournament combo game that runs for four hours before those players with chips remaining are allowed to exit The Cage and redeem their chips for full monetary value. The buy-in for both contests, one played under a No Limit Hold’em format and the other as Pot Limit Omaha, feature a $5,100 buy-in.
For that entry fee, players receive $5,000 in chips and go to war on the virtual felt in cash game action until the time clock reaches 0:00. Players who bust before the game concludes cannot re-buy and will have to wait until the next announced The Cage match to exact revenge.
Both games begin tonight, January 14, at 8:00 p.m. EST. Both will also run with three escalating blind levels set at 1 hour and 20 minutes each. Those blinds are $10/$20, $25/$50, and $50/$100. The NLHE match includes antes of $2, $5 and $10 at the respective levels. No antes are attached to the blinds during the PLO contest.
It’s not too late to sign up and play either (or both) of The Cage matches at the popular WPN skins of Black Chip Poker and Americas Cardroom. Both sites are U.S.-friendly, welcoming American players with open arms.
If the buy-in happens to be a little steep for those who don’t have five grand laying around, there is a way for new players to earn 20% of that $5,000 entry fee. A Welcome Bonus for first-time depositors at both Americas Cardroom and Black Chip is available at 100% up to $1,000. Free entry to a Depositors Freeroll is part of the bonus.
Perhaps you’ve already deposited at either Black Chip or ACR and wish you can grab that generous Welcome Bonus again. Simply sign up at the skin that you haven’t yet patronized to take advantage of the 100% up to $1,000 deposit bonus as a first-timer. Make sure to use a valid bonus code when you sign up for an account. You can find our recently updated Black Chip Poker bonus code for 2015 here. A full 60 days are permitted to clear the bonus.
Safety and security
U.S. players (or those abroad) who may be concerned about the safety of their funds will be pleased to know that WPN skins receive high marks for fast payouts and customer service. Industry watchdogs have heaped praise on both ACR and Black Chip Poker in that regard, making WPN one of the best in the business for players in America who have limited options at which to play online poker.
