Rock Band KISS Reportedly Negotiating a Themed Casino in Mississippi

I want to rock ‘n’ roll all night, and party every day! And play casino games? A news report has taken over the internet this week as popular rock band KISS is reportedly in talks to create a themed casino in the state of Mississippi. The group is said to be speaking with a development company to take the Margaritaville Casino Biloxi and change it to a rock and roll inspired venue, themed after their own exploits.

A KISS Themed Casino?

It may sound like an odd idea, but it could really be happening. The RAM Group is a gaming and hospitality company based in the state of Arizona who purchased the property last year after the venue was closed for close to five years.

Back then, the casino operator and their landlord had a disagreement which led to the venue shutting down and the hotel construction was never completed. Once RAM purchased the property, they reportedly signed a deal with KISS to bring a new vibe to the gaming venue.

The plans are supposedly now in action and details of the property have come to light. Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, perhaps the most prominent members of KISS, are the owners of the Rock & Brews restaurant chain. The chain will now be launching the Rock & Brews Casino.

The property is set to have a hotel with 300 guest rooms, with water views, as well as a casino that will offer 40,000 square feet of gaming space. Other amenities will be located on-site including an event space and of course, a concert venue.

Further Details

According to update information revealed via various news reports, funding for the casino development is in place and the project will be a go. A ribbon cutting ceremony has been scheduled for March 15th and KISS members may be on hand to celebrate.

Tom Moore of RAM has explained that approval for the site has been given and developers will now meet with the Mississippi Gaming Commission to obtain permission to begin the construction process. It appears the Commission should give the go-ahead since the property has sat vacant for so long and as already approved for gaming in the past.

KISS might seem like an odd backer for the project as well as theme for the casino. However, the band has sustained over the decades due to the popularity of their music as well as the fun of the band characters. The members of KISS know how to promote and capitalize on their fame and will continue to do so if this casino project comes to fruition.

It seems that the venue could be similar to a Hard Rock property, with a rock and roll vibe that is centered around the one band, rather than the history of music. It will certainly be interesting to see how this plan unfolds in the future and what exactly the property will look like and offer visitors once operational.
