Standalone Casino App May Be In The Works for DraftKings in NJ

Summary: DraftKings may be planning a standalone online casino app for players located in New Jersey.

The state of New Jersey is by far the most successful when it comes to online gambling. The state offers online poker, casino and sports betting with a ton of operators providing services. The monthly revenues from online gambling have boosted the land-based casino industry and continue to set new records each and every month. The online industry continues to grow at a rapid pace and yet another online casino is set to launch an app soon.

DraftKings App

Earlier this week, it was reported that DraftKings is working on a standalone online casino app for players in New Jersey. According to eGaming Review, the standalone option should be live in a few months.

However, DraftKings has not made an official statement on the matter, so any info is purely speculation at this point. It does seem on point though for DraftKings as they have been involved in the state when it comes to sports betting and offering this type of app would be an expected move by the company.

Back in August, the brand launched their sportsbook application in New Jersey. The company works with Resorts Casino & Hotel to offer such services. The brand was able to beat their competitor, FanDuel, when it came to launching in the state and in a seven month time frame, the brand continues to be the leader when it comes to online sports betting.

The company has been so successful, that they gave Resorts a boost when it comes to revenues. Back in December, DraftKings then decided to launch a casino style blackjack game. The new game was added to the sportsbook application.

Then, soon after, the company decided to add slots, poker and roulette to the sportsbook. As if that weren’t enough, the brand also launched live dealer games. They basically now offer casino games already, just in their sportsbook. With a standalone casino app, players would be able to access such content without having to go through the sportsbook.

Considering What’s to Come

Since DraftKings already has casino games in place, it would make sense to use these same partners to launch games via a standalone app. Take for example their live dealer games. The company works with Evolution Gaming to offer live options in their sportsbook. They can use the same games in their standalone app, already having a live dealer content partnership in place.

The company already has the fan base that they can pull from in order to be successful with casino games. It is expected that the online casino app will share a wallet so that players can access sportsbetting an casino gaming with ease. It is the cross-selling point that can help the company see success in their new venture.

DraftKings has already seen great success when it comes to their sports betting application. The app has great reviews online and it is expected that an online casino application from the brand will be of the same quality.

We will watch over the coming weeks and months to see if DraftKings makes an announcement on the plans or if they keep us in the dark as they work on what is to come!
