The Westgate in Las Vegas is the current home of the SuperBook, which is famous for its SuperContest. With sports betting set to launch in Colorado in May, the SuperBook will be a part of what should be a thriving industry.
The SuperBook is the name for the sports betting application powered by Westgate, but it does provide some exciting features that stand out from the rest of the industry. The SuperBook has agreed to partner with The Lodge in Black Hawk, Colo., once sports betting is launched.
Black Hawk is about an hour’s drive from the state capital of Denver but is expected to be one of the leaders in the new sports betting industry.
Retail sports betting in Colorado is limited to casinos in three small towns in the state. The cities that have casinos are Black Hawk, Cripple Creek, and Central City. There are 33 casinos split between these three towns, and all of the casinos are eligible to apply for a master sports betting license.
Almost all of the casinos have already submitted an application, and many of them have already been approved. With retail sports betting being limited to these towns in the Rocky Mountains, mobile sports betting was also approved and will be launched on May 1 as well.
The SuperBook is partnering with Jacobs Entertainment to bring their brand to Colorado, and it appears that the app could also move to other states around the country. The Colorado Division of Gaming is set to review the SuperBook application this week, and it is expected to be approved.

The SuperBook will join a long list of powerful sports betting companies that are looking to take advantage of the Colorado sports betting industry upon launch. State officials have maintained that sports betting will launch on May 1, despite most sports being shut down by the coronavirus pandemic.
The SuperBook sees almost 70 percent of its action through mobile betting in Las Vegas, but that number is expected to be close to 95 percent in Colorado. The state of Colorado is almost double the size of Nevada, and they are expecting to see some major numbers.
The capital city of Denver is a terrific sports town that hosts a team in each of the four major professional sports.
The Westgate SuperBook offers the SuperContest each year, which is one of the biggest NFL contests in the sports betting industry. The Denver Broncos are one of the most famous teams in the NFL, and being in Colorado should make the contest even bigger this year.
Even though the Colorado Division of Gaming is expected to approve an online sports betting license for the SuperBook, they will also have to approve the SuperContest. Last year there was a $1,500 entry fee to enter the contest, with the grand prize being close to $1.5 million.
Rumors of the SuperBook entering new markets started to emerge almost a year ago, as the company looked poised to enter the market in New Jersey. That ultimately did not happen, but the SuperBook could not pass up on this opportunity.
The SuperBook is working on making upgrades to their mobile betting app to keep up with some of the other top names entering the Colorado market.
The state of Colorado has imposed a 10% tax rate on sports betting revenue, making them extremely competitive in the industry. FanDuel, DraftKings, and PointsBet are three other big names ready to launch their product on May 1.
