WynnBet Applies for Virginia Sports Betting License as it Lands NASCAR Deal

WynnBet, the division responsible for providing sports and casino betting online for the exotic Wynn Resorts, has just announced a multi-year gaming deal with NASCAR. This will mean that across the United States, you can now bet on NASCAR racing through the WynnBet.

Both parties involved made the announcement in Martinsville, Virginia, which was the location for the second-to-last race of the NASCAR season. The announcement was made mainly to let racing fans and bettors know that there is an option for NASCAR betting on WynnBet – no clear financial information was divulged by either party.

The SVP and Chief Digital Officer for NASCAR was at the event and expressed his excitement regarding the deal, saying that “We are excited to partner with such a deeply experienced and innovative team to drive engagement and expand our sports betting offerings.” He also went on to commend WynnBet, stating that they are an iconic brand, and that he hopes that the partnership will advance NASCAR’s position in the gaming space. At the same time, they expect it provide fans with a way to interact and engage with the sport.

Virginia Sports Betting License Application

WynnBet has wasted no time in applying to be one of the twelve sportsbooks that could get a license to operate in the state. This move followed the passing of a bill by the legislature in Virginia to legalize sports betting.

As stated by the President of Wynn Resorts, Wynnbet is looking to provide an amazing experience for sports bettors in Virginia both digitally and at NASCAR facilities. This cannot be achieved unless they have a license from Virginia.

NASCAR’s ties with the state of Virginia are deeply rooted as the institution has two of its most iconic tracks – Richmond Raceway and Martinsville Speedway – in the state. An approval for WynnBet will mean that they will be the official sportsbook for both racetracks, which will result in the creation of a WynnBet lounge at each venue. This is huge for the operators, because both tracks will host four NASCAR Cup series yearly, more than any other state can say.

Building a Roster

Wynn is not as big as other bookies in the US and they are working very hard to change that. In August, WynnBet announced that it will be entering New Jersey – the current biggest legal sports betting market in the United States. This did not get as much buzz as they would have liked, but it is a step in the right direction.

Moves have also been made to gain exposure in two of the fastest-growing sports betting markets – Colorado and Indiana. This is facilitated by a partnership with Full House Resorts. This announcement with NASCAR is perhaps the biggest for Wynn so far, as it was unexpected and will give them a decent amount of exposure.

Benefits for NASCAR

In most sportsbooks, NASCAR is usually placed in the “other” category that is reserved for niche sports in the industry. In about two months, the largest stock car auto racing league might also pen a deal with BetMGM to elevate its status. Recently, it completed a deal for sports betting with Penn National Gaming in another attempt to increase notoriety.

The partnership with prove very beneficial for the racing giants as the portfolio of bet types offered through WynnBet’s mobile app will be expanded. WynnBet will also offer in-play bets, allowing bettors to actively wager on the race as it is ongoing.

All parties involved in the partnership are excited and cannot wait to get on with the 2021 season. Both strong brands claim to want to create incredible experiences for fans, believing in the importnce of customer hospitality.
