Five Popular Tips For Horse Poker

Horse is composed of five different poker games. Each round will play out for the number of hands at the table. So if five people are playing, then five rounds of Texas Hold ’em would go before switching to the next game. Some tips to keep in mind while playing are:

  1. Know the structure
  2. Aggression and strengths
  3. Betting style
  4. Finding a weakness
  5. Being an all-around player

Know The Structure

Horse is made up of five different poker games. The games are as follows in order: Texas Hold ’em, Omaha Hi-Low, Razz, Seven Card Stud, Seven Card Stud Hi-Low.

It is important to understand what game you are playing. If you do not know the rules of the game, then it is pointless to even be playing it. If you are familiar with each game, then you need to stay focused on the strategies you have for each one since each game requires certain cards to have a good hand.

Aggression And Strengths

By understanding the rules and the structure of the game, you should be betting strongly on your good hands. No need to wait around since the games are not going to be very long.

Bet your strong hands, especially if you know the game inside and out. If you are a wizard at Texas Hold ’em, use this to your advantage. If you are not the best at Razz, then maybe let the hands come to you more conservatively and try not to get conned into bad hands.

Betting Style

In addition to your strengths, you have two options on how to bet. Since each game requires a little different skills, you are going to have to work around your betting style.

You have the choice of either betting heavy or keeping your bankroll intact. You also need to be on the lookout for when other players bet uncharacteristically. This is a telling sign that points to a bad hand or lack of knowledge of the game.

Finding A Weakness

If you know you are good at Texas Hold ’em, then that is your strength. But what game are you not as good at? You need to be able to peer through a game that you are not as strong at to go onto the next round.

Also, you need to be able to find out what your opponent’s strengths and weaknesses are. If your opponent is excellent at Razz, and you are not, it would be best not to play around with that opponent unless you happen to have a good hand. The same can be said the other way around, too, by hunting an opponent who is weak at a game you excel at.

Being An All-Around Player

One thing to keep in mind when coming up with a strategy for Horse is that you need to be well versed in all of the games listed. You are exposing a weakness if you do not get better at the games you are not good at.

It is okay to have your strengths and to fine-tune them every now and then. But your weaknesses in the other poker games will hurt you and cost you money. Being well balanced for all of the games will make you a dangerous Horse poker player.
