Lucha Libre Review

Designed by RTG, Lucha Libre is a slot game that is inspired by mask-wearing Mexican wrestlers. This in itself makes it an interesting theme, so how do they incorporate that into the slot?

Overview of Lucha Libre

This game has 5 reels and 25 paylines, but the main thing that leaps out is the comical nature of the theme. Unsurprisingly, the reels are set against a wrestling ring while there are also ticker tape and fireworks. The symbols are also a whole lot of fun with peppers, tequila, trophies, tortilla chips and so many other Mexican-themed symbols.

How to Play Lucha Libre

Playing this game follows the usual approach for anybody with prior experience of slots. First, choose the size of the coin you wish to bet by clicking on the appropriate buttons to change the value. Next, select the number of paylines that you want to gamble on, with this altering the overall size of your bet of course. Finally, if you feel the reels spin too slowly, then hit the speed button to make things go faster. Once you are happy, hit the spin button and see if you’re going to win big.

Bonus Features for Lucha Libre

The game does also comes with some bonus features to add some extra spice to the proceedings. This time, there are two wild symbols represented by two wrestlers called Guacamolio and Taco Molio. Either of them will act as a substitute, although the scatter symbol is exempt. They also act as stacked wilds on reel 3, at which point they can then jump to other reels to increase your chances of landing some wins.

This game also has two scatter symbols, with the wrestling ring and mask. If you land 3 or more ring symbols, it opens up the ‘Time to Rumble’ feature. Here, you select a wrestling move which is then animated, and you can win some kind of prize. Land 3 mask symbols across the first 3 reels and you trigger the ‘Mask of Firey Doom’ mode where you get some free spins. Also, it will have masks across the first 4 reels, and this does then lead to you standing the chance of landing some multipliers on your bet as well.

Betting and Payouts for Lucha Libre

The coin bet range with this game starts off at 0.01 and has a maximum of 5. For an actual monetary bet range, then you could run 1 line at $0.01, while placing the maximum of $5 over each payline does mean a maximum bet of $125. For the payouts, you are looking at a maximum pot of $10,000 when you factor in multipliers. That is perfectly reasonable for a maximum from RTG, even though there are other games out there that pay out more.

Overall, Lucha Libre is a fun slot that does at least have something a bit different from both the wilds and scatters that add some extra fun to the proceedings. With such a low minimum bet on offer, it also means you can go ahead and check it out at a number of casinos to see if this is the kind of game for you.
