Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino and Racetrack Opens New WSOP Poker Room

On April 26th, the Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino and Racetrack opened a brand new poker room. The venue had undergone major renovations and have now revealed the World Series of Poker branded space. The room has 27 poker tables and is made possible due to the parent company of the casino, Caesars Entertainment, owning the WSOP brand.

Moving On Up

The new poker room is a relocated space from where the former poker space was, moving from the racing level to the main gaming floor. The move should help to bring in more players to the poker space. The official grand reopening took place last Friday and featured food and activities. The room hosted games and giveaways into the night.

Players can now expect to have access to quality poker gaming options via the new room. Starting in May, the WSOP poker room will offer a special series offering a seat to the WSOP Main event. Titled the Diamond Delight XI $100,000 Guaranteed Series, the event will run from May 1stuntil the 10thfeaturing prizes including a seat to the Main Event of the 2019 WSOP, an entry to the WSOP Millionaire Maker 2019 plus $1,000 in cash and Diamond Card status for one year.

The tournament is a $100 plus $30 buy-in no limit hold’em event. Day 1 will run from May 1stto the 10thwith Day 2 starting on the 11th. The top 10% from each Day 1 flight will return to compete.

New Poker Room

Inside the new poker room, the branded space offers 27 new tables in a larger area than the previous room. Players can use text to table ordering service via mobile to access items during gameplay. For entertainment, the poker room features sixteen 55” TV screens as well as a large projection screen.

The new poker room is open seven days a week and 24 hours a day. The space was one of the last areas included in the major renovation plans of the property. The changes were put into motion last year in an attempt to bring new customers to the venue. In January, the casino welcomed a new sportsbook titled The Book as well as the Topgolf Swing Suite.

Another new addition will launch next month with the seasonal patio bar. Horse racing fans will be able to hang out here and enjoy their time during the daily races. Overall, visitors to the property will find the gaming action is located all in one place, be it poker, sports betting, Topgolf and more.

On top of their new onsite options, Harrah’s is also planning on offering online gambling in Pennsylvania. It is expected that the brand will launch along with others during the week of July 15th. Operators were alerted by the Gaming Board that a coordinated launch was in the works and that license holders needed to be ready with software and partnerships for launching.

Harrah’s is already partnered with 888 Holdings so they will most likely launch a WSOP online poker site as well as 888 gaming options. Though the actual sites that will launch remain a mystery.
