Hollywood Casino Launches iGaming Site in Pennsylvania: What They Offer

A few days ago, it was announced that several online casinos would be launching this week in Pennsylvania. Among the operators launching is Hollywood Casino. The site went live on Monday to begin the testing phase of their offering. Penn National Gaming, the parent company of Hollywood Casino, signed a deal with IGT to prepare for iGaming in the state.

Hollywood’s Offering

Now that the online casino is live, players got a look at what Hollywood has to offer. The soft launch began at 11am local time, with the majority of the games on offer being slot titles. A total of 40 slots are provided at the site including such titles as Siberian Storm and Wolf Run.

The slots are basic and do not include any progressives as is normally seen at online casinos in the US as well as abroad. Along with the lack of progressive gaming options, the site also is lacking in table games. The site does not provide any traditional table games like roulette, craps and blackjack. The site does include video poker and baccarat.

The site should add more titles in the future, including table games. More titles will be added to the gaming library of the site as the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board approves them. Every game to be offered by a site must be reviewed and approved by the Board before going live.

Site Setup

When visiting the Hollywood Casino site, the setup is quite basic. There are no flashy graphics or intricate website design. Players will find everything they need on the home page. Click on slots from the middle to the bottom of the page as well as sections for Vegas Style Slots and Classic Slots. Players can also find promotions on this page to take advantage of incentives for online gaming.

Players must be located in Pennsylvania to access the new site and will find that the banking options are a bit limited but standard for US based sites. Players can choose to deposit via VIP Preferred, which is an e-check company for gaming sites. Credit card options include Discover, MasterCard and Visa. Additional options include PayNearMe and Hollywood Play+ prepaid card.

Like other sites, Hollywood Casino will not offer an iOS application. Apple changed their regulations last minute which resulted in operators being unable to have an app ready in time to be used for iPhone and iPad devices.

Android users will find the online casino offers an application that can be downloaded directly from the Hollywood Casino site. The app provides the same content as the desktop site.

The Apple issue has proven to be a problem in Pennsylvania and may cause revenues to be less than expected because iOS users will not be able to access games at this time from their devices. Hopefully in the future, operators will able to launch an iOS version so that the games can be accessed by everyone, no matter the device used.
