Unibet Ready to Launch in Pennsylvania

As sports betting continues to expand across the United States, operators are popping up in all kinds of places. As an operator offer services in one state, they are looking to branch out in order to offer services in other regions. In Pennsylvania, Unibet is preparing to launch not only online sports betting services, but also casino gaming.

Working with Mohegan Sun

The Unibet brand has signed a partnership agreement with the Mohegan Sun to offer sports betting in a retail setting as well as online. They will also be providing the online casino site for the Mohegan Sun Pocono venue. The retail sportsbook started offering services in September.

The retail book has already seen a nice reception in the state, so the operator expects the online version to do just as well if not better. Players seem to enjoy online gaming much more than live as they can place a bet from the comfort of home, rather than having to travel to do so.

The launch in Pennsylvania marks the second state that the Unibet brand has entered in the US. The company started offering services in New Jersey in the online market, having partnered with the Hard Rock Atlantic City.

The online sportsbook in New Jersey has seen a ton of action as of late, including a huge bet of $1 million by Jim McIngvale, or Mattress Mack as he likes to be called. The businessman used the sportsbook of the brand to place a $1 million wager on the Houston Astros to win the World Series.

The bet was the largest ever made in New Jersey for the operator, but is quite normal for the group internationally.

More Partnerships

Unibet is quite busy in the US, having created even more partnerships than those with the Mohegan Sun and Hard Rock AC. They have several sports partners as well to help the brand extend their reach in the sports betting industry.

Unibet has signed a multi-year deal with the New Jersey Devils, an NHL team, with the agreement including digital marketing and in-arena opportunities. Customers of the brand will have access to hospitality and fan experiences with the team.

A brand ambassador was also signed in the state, with Unibet naming Martin Brodeur, a Hall of Fame Devils Goalie as a representative. Along with the NHL deal, Unibet has teamed up with the Philadelphia Union, a Major League Soccer team.

Right now, Unibet is focusing on long-term success. The deals they have made with teams and casino companies have a start-up cost, but in the end, it will bring traffic to their sites and retail outlets, which will mean big business.

According to officials of Unibet, the parent company Kindred, is working hard to secure even more deals for the brand. With more states in the mix, the Unibet name will gain more ground and revenues will soon begin rolling in.

News of Unibet launching an online sports betting site is not the only fresh rumors taking place in Pennsylvania. It is also expected that DraftKings will be launching next month in the state online. DraftKings is a well-known sports betting brand that should fare well in PA, having already seen great success in New Jersey.

Pennsylvania is setting up to be a powerhouse in the online sports betting and online casino market, with several sites offering or soon to be offering services. It will be interesting to watch as the industry grows and if they will prove to be big competition for New Jersey in the coming months.
